The SCS Formulate show, which took place at the Telford International Centre, 18-19 November 2008, has proved to be a real success for Cornelius. The exhibition is vital to our core UK Cosmetics and Personal Care Market; in the industry where innovation and originality is at a premium, our wide range products portfolio demonstrate great functionality while offering lots of creative potential. Cornelius Cosmetics Group Manager Neil Forbes was faced with some difficult choices when deciding what to bring to the Formulate this year: “because we have such an excellent and varied range of products, it has been a real dilemma; ultimately we opted for those products that demonstrate great functionality while offering lots of creativity and innovation to our customers. We were excited to be showing new water-dispersed film formers Pecogel and a diverse range of functionalised silicones Pecosil from Phoenix Chemicals Inc, as well as an Ecocert approved multi-functional additive Laracare A200 and globally approved parabens alternatives Geogard from Lonza. The SCS Formulate 2008 is also the first exhibition at which we showcased JEEN International, with its range of innovative silicones, and Power Paper, which is offering new and exciting battery-powered skincare patches.The bestselling portfolio of actives from SILAB (such as skin repair Glyco-Repair®, wrinkle fighting Papilactyl D®, Ecocert Organic actives BioRange® for anti-aging, moisturising and immediate tensor effect, etc) is ideally positioned for formulation needs of our customers”.
We were delighted by the quality and quantity of visitors to our stand. Several technical representatives from some of our Global, Market Leading Principals were able to join us on our stand: Kristina Haug and Virginia Smith (BASF), Matt Meddings (Lonza), John Imperante (Phoenix) and Adi Baruch (Power Paper) were on hand to answer the queries and provide advice and support.
The SCS Formulate was an ideal platform to share exciting news with our customers: as of January 1st 2009, Cornelius will be the UK and Ireland distributor for the complete BASF Personal Care ingredients Portfolio. Cornelius already has a proven record of supplying and supporting the BASF Effect Pigments range. It will now be complemented by the addition of the rest of the BASF Personal Care ingredients, which makes Cornelius ideally positioned to provide innovative technical solutions for all your formulation needs. The new products include Polymers (Luviskol®, Luviset®, Luvimer®, Liviquat®, Liviflex® and Ultrahold®), organic and inorganic UV Absorbers, a broad range Actives and Surfactants.
We were very pleased with the great reception of the latest innovation development on texture from our Group Technical Centre, titled “Texture with Cornelius- Come and Have a Feel...”, presented at SCS Formulate. The visitors of the show expressed great interest in the presented range of concepts and formulations on Texture across the variety of industry applications, helping to create and design formulations with enhanced sensorial functionality to best fit today’s fast moving fashions. Our moussey, silky and slippy formulations were a hit with the visitors!
