Sustainability and Environment: Cornelius at the BCF Update seminar
On Thursday 10th November 2011 Cornelius took part in the table top exhibition at the BCF Update Seminar in Nottingham. Selected key products for sustainability and environment were showcased, such as:
- Drycoat- an alternative to cobalt driers
- OmegaSpheres- ceramic miscrospheres recycled from the energy industry
- Shark Solutions- recycled PVB from laminate windscreens
- Solaplex- heavy metal free alternative to lead chromate pigments
- Wollastonite- environmentally friendly replacement for zinc phosphate
The seminar was well attended and there were some very informative presentations, some subjects covered were:
- Cobalt REACH consortium activities - Kate Belska, Cobalt Development Institute
- Sustainability - Tony Marsh, British Coatings Federation
- Reducing the Carbon footprint of the coatings industry - Will Schreiber, Best Foot Forward
- New regulatory controls on Chemical Release to Indoor Air - Elizabeth Woolfenden, Marks International
During the breaks in seminars we were able to touch base with and have some fruitful discussions on topics such as The Cornelius Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Charter with key customers who attended. There was also the opportunity to have further discussion on some of the challenges that will be impacting on the coatings industry which had been covered by the seminar.
